Mark 4:22-25

“Everything that is now hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light.  Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand!  And be sure to pay attention to what you hear.  The more you do this, the more you will understand — and even more, besides.  To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given.  But to those who are not  not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them.”

 -New Living Translation

Matthew 24:3-8

Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?”   Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you,  for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.  And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.  Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.  But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. (NLT)

Romans 8:17-18

And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.  Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. (NLT)

Psalms 18:28-29

Lord, you have brought light to my life; my God, you light up my darkness.  in your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. (NLT)

All Encompassing Commandment

“You shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”  – Matthew 22:37-40

What the Lord requires –

“You have been told, O man, what is good, and what the Lord requires of you:  Only to do the right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8

Galatians 1:6-9

“I am amazed that you are so quickly forsaking the one who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel (not that there is another).  But there are some who are disturbing you and wish to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed!  As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let that one be accursed!”

1 Timothy 4:4-5

“For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected when received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the invocation of God in prayer.”

Mark 11:24-25

“Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.  When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions.”

2 Timothy 4:1-5

1In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
